Glasgow Baby Food Bank & 6 Scots
Times are tough at the moment, more so this year than in recent memory. We were approached by Kenneth Kyle of 6 Scots (A reserve infantry battalion within the royal regiment of Scotland) whom asked if we could help with any donations towards the local baby food-bank located in Glasgow. It was Margaret-Ann Speirs from St.Andrews Timber West (St.Andrews Timber West refers to our depot in Paisley) that answered the call (pictured below). There has been a breathtaking level of generosity shown from the community in Paisley and it’s been truly amazing to witness.
A statement from Margaret-Ann in response to her motivation for steering the initiative towards its ultimate success: ‘as soon as i was approached by Kenneth from 6 Scots and heard that there was actually such a thing as a ‘baby food bank’ my heart shattered. The fact that in this day & age there is still a need for food banks, much less baby food banks, is a matter deeply saddening. I immediately decided i had to help, and that my branch was going to offer its utmost support in raising awareness and baby food items for the initiative’.

The work they are doing is incredible and is all voluntary non-profit, I believe with our assistance and assistance from the public, we can help the charity feed some wee babies over the winter period.
The response!
Please see below the pictures of baby formula, baby food & nappies that were raised from the generosity coming out of our branch in Paisley & the surrounding areas. Staff donated, as-well as a massive effort from the general public. We ended up accumulating over 100 items of baby-essentials! It truly is amazing to see the generosity of people and their astounding efforts in raising money for such a worthy cause. To our colleague and friend Margaret-Ann, we are so very proud of you! There are babies out there receiving essential sustenance & care thanks to your efforts. To the general public, we invite you to help out if possible, anything at all however small, will always help. The Glasgow Baby Foodbank , located at 110 Flemington Street, Glasgow G21 4TD, only accept baby food products and no cash can be accepted.
